WellStar, the Georgia health system for which Essex produced the book Life Well-Lived in early 2013, has chosen Essex again—this time for a book about its medical staff. The new book, scheduled for publication in the spring of 2015, will document changes in medical care from the family doctor/small community hospital model of the late 1940s, when the first of WellStar’s five hospitals was chartered, to today’s team approach to care within an integrated delivery model.
